It was a beautiful sunshine-filled day here in Maine and we decided to hop in the car and make our way to the coast. We had planned to make it back to Camden when the weather got nicer. Today was the day. Camden is the quintessential New England harbor town situated at the foot of Camden Hills on Penobscot Bay. With such picturesque views, this makes Camden an ideal place for photograph taking opportunities. We had visited Camden a few weeks before Christmas last year. You can read all about that visit here. All of the ships and boats were winterized and we didn’t get a chance to get down to see the water. This time, we were able to experience the harbor and town in a totally different view. We had a perfect day and it was nice to experience the town before it gets too hot and crowded for the summer. On the way home, we stopped by the Belgrade Peninsula Park and got a few nice shots of the lake and fishermen while the sun was setting.
Civil War Soldier’s Monument located in Harbor Park, erected in 1899 by the Camden Soldiers Monument Association. This memorial honors the dead of what the monument terms the “Great Rebellion” of 1861-1865.
