The Eastern Purple Coneflower Enchinacea purpurea is a popular North American species of a herbaceous perennial, flowering plant. The flowers have cone-shaped flowering heads and grow well in full sun or shade and in well-drained soil. These beautiful flowers attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and if the heads are left intact during the winter, birds will feed on the seeds.
