Sunflower is the common name for plants of the genus Helianthus, which belong to the flowering plant family Asteracease. These flowering plants are commonly known as the aster, daisy, or sunflower family. Sunflowers provide nectar for bees as well as food and seeds for birds, insects, and numerous mammals.
